Full Job Description Description:
The Lead Housekeeper is responsible for overseeing daily housekeeping operations within the Facility to ensure a clean, safe, sanitary, and welcoming environment for residents, visitors, and staff. The Housekeeper/Cleaner will clean, sanitize, and maintain resident rooms and assigned common areas.
Supervisory Responsibilities:
This role supervises housekeeping staff, coordinates cleaning schedules, maintains compliance with health and safety standards, and supports a culture of dignity and respect for residents.
Requirements:
Lead, schedule, and support housekeeping team members. Train new staff on cleaning procedures, safety protocols, chemical handling, and customer service expectations. Conduct routine inspections and provide coaching to maintain quality standards.•Assist management with staff evaluations, disciplinary actions, and performance improvement plans. Promote teamwork and maintain positive staff morale. Performs general cleaning and sanitizing tasks and services throughout assigned resident rooms and assigned common areas. Uses cleaning cart to transport cleaning supplies. Cleans and disinfects bathrooms. Cleans and disinfects kitchen and dining areas. Wipes and dusts surfaces in rooms and cleans mirrors. Vacuums and cleans floors, rugs, furniture, and drapes. Removes linens, towels, bedspreads, and blankets. Places and neatly tucks clean sheets and blankets on beds and replaces pillowcases. Stocks towels, washcloths, and hand towels in bathrooms. Picks up and empties trash containers. Loads washers and dryers and folds sheets and towels in laundry room as needed. In commercial resident room, notifies maintenance if something is not working properly. Performs other related duties as assigned.
Required Skills/Abilities:
Detail-oriented and thorough Ability to remain discreet and respect the privacy of residents, tenants, and/or guests Sufficient ability to read, write, speak, understand, and communicate in English to complete work efficiently, effectively, and courteously.
Education and Experience:
Education sufficient to read, write, and speak as needed for the job.
Physical Requirements:
Prolonged periods standing and walking and frequently pulling, pushing, and bending. Must be able to lift and carry up to 25 pounds at times.
