• Full-time All American HVAC is growing and looking for a Lead HVAC Installer who can take ownership of residential HVAC installs, lead an apprentice/helper, and deliver clean, professional work our customers can trust.

We are a locally owned heating and cooling company based in Crown Point, Indiana , serving Northwest Indiana. We are looking for someone who takes pride in quality installs, clean job sites, proper sheet metal work, and doing the job right the first time. This is not a basic helper position. We need someone who can lead installs, make professional decisions in the field, and represent the company well in customers' homes. Compensation Compensation depends on experience, install ability, sheet metal skill, job performance, callbacks, upgrade sales, customer satisfaction, and overall reliability. Lead installers are paid through a combination of base pay, task-based/performance pay, no-callback bonuses, upgrade commissions, Comfort Club spiffs, review bonuses, and other performance-based opportunities. Task-based pay, bonuses, and spiffs will be explained in more detail with qualified candidates during the interview process. Responsibilities Lead residential HVAC installations from start to finish Install furnaces, air conditioners, evaporator coils, duct transitions, line sets, condensate, thermostats, and accessories Perform professional, high-quality sheet metal work on-site Build clean, proper duct transitions and field-fabricated fittings as needed Lead and train an apprentice/helper on proper install procedures Keep job sites clean, organized, and professional Communicate clearly with customers, office staff, and management Follow company install checklists and quality standards Take required job photos and notes in Housecall Pro Complete proper startup procedures before leaving the job Stock, clean, and maintain install van and tools Prevent callbacks by double-checking airflow, drainage, electrical, gas piping, venting, refrigerant, condensate, thermostat wiring, and full system operation Offer appropriate upgrades when they benefit the customer, such as humidifiers, smart thermostats, air purification systems, and indoor air quality accessories Represent All American HVAC professionally in customers' homes Requirements Minimum 2 years of HVAC installer experience required Lead installer experience strongly preferred Must be highly skilled in on-site sheet metal work Must be able to build clean, professional duct transitions in the field Must be able to install full furnace and AC systems Must be able to lead a helper/apprentice Strong understanding of airflow, ductwork, gas piping, venting, drainage, electrical, low-voltage wiring, refrigerant lines, and startup procedures Valid driver's license Reliable transportation Professional attitude and good communication skills Must be clean, organized, dependable, and accountable Must take pride in high-quality work Preferred Skills Some service and maintenance experience preferred Ability to diagnose basic HVAC issues during installs or callbacks Experience performing furnace and AC tune-ups Basic refrigerant charging and troubleshooting knowledge Basic electrical and low-voltage troubleshooting Ability to identify airflow, ductwork, drainage, venting, and combustion concerns Experience installing inverter systems is a strong plus Experience installing communicating HVAC systems is a strong plus Experience with Amana, American Standard, Goodman, Trane, or similar equipment Housecall Pro or similar field software experience is a plus What We're Looking For We are not looking for someone who just wants to "get through the job."
