Lead HVAC Installer

Schagrin Home Comfort Products is a 4th generation family-owned local business specializing in propane delivery and the installation and service of gas appliances including standby generators, gas logs and fireplaces, HVAC equipment, and other comfort and convenience products. Job Overview As a lead installer, you are the leader of your install team. Once instruction has been given to you by the Install Manager, you are responsible for instructing your team members and executing a professional install job. You will work hands-on with your crew while installing a wide range of HVAC equipment. It is your job to make sure the installation is done properly, safely, and to the high standards of Schagrin Home Comfort Products, all while providing excellent customer service. Objective To plan, service, layout, repair and install heating, cooling, ventilation equipment, and various other products. Maintain and operate shop equipment and tools, performing quality work, as quickly and efficiently as possible. Essential Functions Installs residential and light commercial heating, air conditioning, and ventilation equipment, as well as other products in accordance with company requirements and manufacturer specifications Works under minimum supervision to install HVAC equipment in the customer's home Designs, fabricates, and installs various ducts and duct fittings as required Completes all paperwork in a neat, accurate, thorough, and timely manner Responsible for delivery of excellent customer service and sustaining high levels of customer satisfaction Follows standard procedures and processes to ensure that the job progression stays on time. Able to instruct and educate laborers/helpers assisting on the job Other miscellaneous duties as requested by manager(s) Represent Schagrin Home Comfort Products in a professional and courteous manner at all times Minimum Qualifications 5+ years minimum HVAC installation in the field Thorough knowledge of HVAC equipment, parts and their functions Must have or be able to obtain & maintain a DOT Medical Certification due to vehicle weight Must have a clean driving record and valid driver's license, in good standing Excellent verbal and written communication skills, as well as attention to detail Must be able to lift, push, and pull up to 50 lbs minimum. Must be able to follow OSHA requirements and safety precautions per company procedures and policies. Must provide own basic hand tools Capable of working in an environment both inside and outside, in all weather, and may involve some confined spaces Physically capable of performing duties that include standing for long periods of time, walking, and climbing ladders Ability to understand and follow instructions Must have universal EPA refrigerant certification Ability to read blueprints, technical drawings and diagrams Possess basic math skills and capable of reading a ruler and accurately computing measurements Willingness to arrive on time and show motivation in daily work Must comply with Schagrin Home Comfort Products drug testing policy Schedule Requirements Available to work Monday through Friday, from 7:30am-4:30pm Must be able to meet short deadlines with the availability to work variable hours when project requires Required to be on-call on a rotating basis once trained. Must be readily available while on-call. Available by phone, text, and/or email during after-hours and weekends. Pay Details This is an hourly, non-exempt position Pay range is between $60,000 to $100,000 per year with incentives This position description does not list all the duties of the position.
