Job Description
Lead Fire and Security Technician Take the lead in protecting what matters most! Founded in 1969, Security Equipment, Inc. JOB RESPONSIBILITIES
Lead fire and installation projects from start to finish, ensuring quality work is delivered on time and meets SEi's high standards Act as the on-site point of contact for project managers, customers, and installation teams Mentor and support junior technicians, helping develop technical skills and best practices Review job sites, read and interpret blueprints and schematics, and determine project requirements Install, wire, program, and configure commercial security systems (burglary, access control, and IP video) Troubleshoot hardware, software, and network issues to ensure systems perform flawlessly Ensure compliance with NEC standards, manufacturer specifications, and local codes Maintain clean, professional job sites and complete accurate documentation Collaborate with Project Managers and Service Teams for smooth project handoffs Assist with inventory tracking, equipment care, and company vehicle upkeep Participate in ongoing technical, safety, and leadership trainingREQUIREMENTS
3-5+ years of hands-on experience installing and servicing fire and electronic security systems NICE I or II Holds a current Iowa fire inspection and install license Proven leadership ability with experience guiding teams and delegating work Ability to read schematics, wiring diagrams, and use software for system configuration and troubleshooting Strong communication, organization, and customer-facing skills Comfort working at heights, in confined spaces, and performing physically demanding tasks Valid driver's license with a clean driving record Ability to pass background and drug screening Willingness to participate in on-call rotation and occasional overtimeSHIFT:
Standard 8-hour workday Monday- Friday Overtime as needed
