Lead Line Cook

Madbush Falls, restaurant, hotel and mountain bike basecamp, is looking for a culinary leader to collaborate with Chef de Cuisine Paul Williams. Our indoor/outdoor restaurant is open and busy every night with stellar reviews on food and service. One of Vermont's most exciting new culinary offerings, our team has earned over 200 5-star food reviews in its first 2 years of operation. You will work with a tight, competent crew, preparing food according to our popular recipes that celebrate Vermont. You'll help maintain a clean and organized kitchen and work together to ensure that all orders are delivered to customers in a timely and accurate manner.

Key Responsibilities:

Prepare food items according to recipes and specifications. Ensure that all food items are properly cooked and served at the correct temperature. Coordinate with other kitchen staff to ensure that all orders are delivered to customers in a timely and accurate manner. Maintain a clean and organized kitchen, including equipment and workstations. Monitor food quality and presentation to ensure that our high standards are met. Follow food safety and sanitation guidelines at all times. Train and mentor junior kitchen staff as needed. Open or close the kitchen on any opening or closing shifts.

Requirements:

High school diploma or equivalent ~1 year or more of experience as a line cook or similar role in a restaurant or hospitality setting. Knowledge of food preparation techniques and cooking methods Ability to work in a fast-paced environment and multitask effectively. Excellent communication and interpersonal skills Strong attention to detail and organizational skills Ability to work a flexible schedule, including evenings, weekends, and holidays. Ability to stand for extended periods of time and lift up to 50 pounds.

Preferred Qualifications:

Culinary degree or certification Experience in a restaurant environment Serve safe or food safety Certification Preferred Familiarity with kitchen equipment and appliances

Physical Requirements:

Must be able to stand for extended periods of time. Must be able to lift up to 50 pounds. Must be able to work in a fast-paced and high-pressure environment.
