Job Description
PCPI Plastics LLC is a custom thermoplastic injection molding company seeking a highly experienced, hands-on technical professional to take ownership of maintenance, equipment troubleshooting, and equipment reliability across our facility. This is not a traditional maintenance role. We are looking for a proven problem solver who can step in immediately, diagnose complex issues, and drive them to resolution with minimal direction. This role requires a high level of accountability, technical capability, and ownership. Key Responsibilities Diagnose and repair injection molding machines, auxiliary equipment, and facility systems Lead and execute preventative maintenance (PM) programs with a focus on quality and consistency Troubleshoot electrical systems (AC/DC), controls, relays, and circuitry Support and troubleshoot automation systems including robots and sprue pickers Program and maintain automation equipment as needed Design, build, and troubleshoot end-of-arm tooling Work with outside vendors for equipment and facility repairs Manage parts ordering and maintenance inventory Support and administer facility systems including public water system (PWS) compliance and EPA-related requirements Ensure all work is performed in accordance with OSHA standards and sound manufacturing practices Identify and implement improvements to equipment reliability and overall system performance What We're Looking For Strong hands-on troubleshooting ability (mechanical and electrical) Minimum 10-12 years of extensive experience in an injection molding manufacturing environment Experience diagnosing and supporting all-electric and some hydraulic molding machines, auxiliary equipment, and related systems Working knowledge of electrical systems (AC/DC) single/three phase, controls, relays, circuitry/sensors Experience with automation and machine diagnostics Working knowledge of OSHA standards in a manufacturing environment Experience or familiarity with EPA requirements, including public water system (PWS) compliance Demonstrated ability to take ownership of problems and drive them to completion Ability to operate independently with minimal direction Success in this role requires strong independent troubleshooting capability, with the ability to diagnose and resolve issues internally while utilizing outside service support as needed for specialized situations Highly Valued Experience Experience with Fanuc Roboshot All-Electric molding machines (significant advantage) Experience with Wittmann and/or Yushin robots and sprue pickers, including programming and troubleshooting Experience troubleshooting air/desiccant dryers, water TCU's, hot runner systems/controllers, conveyors, color feeders, material blenders and material grinders Automation design or integration experience of robots and conveyors End-of-arm tooling design, fabrication and integration Candidates with these additional strengths will be strongly favored, as they align closely with our equipment and future direction. Work Ethic & Expectations This role requires a high level of accountability and ownership. When critical issues arise, you are expected to take the lead (during shift and possibly after hours) until the situation is stable and production is protected. This is not an everyday occurrence—but when it happens, it matters. This role requires a disciplined approach to troubleshooting, with an emphasis on permanent, root-cause solutions rather than continuous temporary fixes.
