Position Summary The Lead Facilities Maintenance Worker oversees the day to day work of the Facilities Maintenance Team. Facility Maintenance group oversees all aspects of a building maintenance, both interior and exterior of the facilities, by performing daily building maintenance repairs and preventative inspections/maintenance on equipment and emergency repairs. Handle the fabrication of walls, installation of doors and windows, paint selection and preparation, basic plumbing installation, grounds maintenance activities, and troubleshooting. This position performs general facility maintenance repairs and construction for all NTMWD Systems. Facilities Maintenance may be called upon to do carpentry, installations, build out workstations, paint, complete repairs to facility amenities, drywall and varied other general maintenance needs for the facility. Works under general supervision. Job Responsibilities Responds to various work orders and special projects as directed by the Facility Maintenance Crewleader. Supervises a small crew team of Maintenance Workers. Assists in maintaining corporate buildings and grounds to be in top condition. Maintains a high standard of safety, cleanliness, and efficiency in all maintenance and repair projects. Performs basic facility and/or maintenance repairs. Performs weekly, bi-weekly, monthly and annual preventative maintenance, repair, and installation in connection with: roofing, plumbing, HVAC systems and exterior and interior of buildings. Perform prep and painting of protective coatings on NTMWD pipelines and appurtenances. Coordinates with NTMWD fence, mowing or other maintenance contractors activities Identifies and troubleshoots problems with the irrigation systems and make repairs as necessary and able. Oversees regular cleanings of pump stations and outer facilities to remove debris and treat for insects. Inspects properties to identify pest infestations and weed overgrowth and apply appropriate treatment. Works overtime when needed in order to prevent disruption of District activities.
Job Requirements Education & Experience:
Three years of experience in facility maintenance operations. Requires a valid Texas Driver's License. Must possess a high school diploma or GED. Texas Structural Pesticide Applicators License preferred Texas Herbicide Applicators License preferred Should have experience in basic carpentry and trades.Knowledge, Skills & Abilities:
Must have the ability to understand directions and be able to perform those tasks with or without direct supervision. Ability to explain directions to other team members so projects can be completed safe, timely and correctly. Ability to supervise staff in a collaborative and constructive manner. Must follow all safety protocols and stay up to date on safety trainings. Complete any training or ongoing education requirements for professional licenses and certifications. Environmental and Physical Working Conditions Driving a District vehicle for business will be required. Employees required to drive as part of their job duties are responsible for maintaining a current, valid, and vehicle - appropriate driver' s license of their resident state. This position requires significant physical exertion with lifting requirements up to 50 pounds daily and up to 100 pounds weekly. Working conditions include exposure to weather, odor, chemical hazards, gases and dust. Will be required to use small hand tools, and safety equipment. Thank you for considering a career with us!
