Job Description

Job Summary:
We are seeking a highly skilled Senior Lead Mechanic to oversee daily shop operations while performing advanced diagnostics, repairs, and maintenance on a wide range of construction equipment. This role is both hands-on and leadership-focused, responsible for managing shop workflow, supervising mechanics, and ensuring all equipment is repaired and ready for use in a timely manner. The ideal candidate can effectively prioritize multiple projects, maintain high productivity across the shop, and drive overall efficiency and accountability.
Responsibilities:
Diagnose and repair gas and diesel trucks (F-350 and similar) Maintain and service heavy equipment (CAT, John Deere, Bobcat, etc.) Perform preventative maintenance and inspections Troubleshoot mechanical and electrical systems
Shop Leadership & Operations:
Lead, manage, and mentor shop mechanics to ensure productivity and quality of work Plan and prioritize daily/weekly workload to meet project timelines and field needs Ensure equipment is repaired, serviced, and returned to service quickly and efficiently Oversee overall shop efficiency, workflow, and organization Assign tasks based on urgency, skill level, and operational priorities Monitor job progress and hold team accountable to deadlines and performance standards Coordinate with field teams and operations to understand equipment needs and timelines
Inventory & Process Management:
Order, track, and manage parts, tools, and shop supplies Minimize downtime by proactively managing parts availability and repair schedules Maintain accurate service records, maintenance logs, and repair documentation Implement and enforce preventative maintenance schedules
Safety & Standards:
Ensure all work is completed safely, efficiently, and to high standards Maintain a clean, organized, and compliant shop environment Identify and implement improvements to shop processes, efficiency, and safety
Requirements:
Minimum 5+ years of experience working on gas/diesel trucks and heavy equipment Proven ability to lead a team or manage shop operations Strong diagnostic and troubleshooting skills Ability to prioritize and manage multiple projects in a fast-paced environment Valid driver's license (CDL preferred but not required) Experience with purchasing, inventory, or shop management strongly preferred Strong communication and organizational skills Punctuality and reliability are essential Bilingual Must be able to commute to Wimberley, TX daily

$25.00 - $38.00 per hour
