Job Description
Position Summary The Nursery Area Lead is responsible for overseeing daily operations of the nursery and garden center area, ensuring excellent customer service, healthy plant care, and efficient merchandising. This role serves as a working leader, supporting and guiding team members while maintaining high standards for product quality, safety, and presentation. Key Responsibilities Lead and support day-to-day operations of the nursery area, including plant care, inventory management, and merchandising Provide exceptional customer service by assisting customers with plant selection, care guidance, and product recommendations Ensure proper watering, pruning, fertilizing, and general maintenance of plants and nursery stock Train, coach, and support nursery team members on procedures, safety, and customer service expectations Maintain accurate inventory levels, assist with ordering, receiving, and organizing nursery products Ensure the nursery area is clean, safe, organized, and visually appealing at all times Monitor plant health and promptly address issues such as pests, disease, or damage Follow company policies, safety guidelines, and loss prevention practices Collaborate with store leadership on seasonal planning, promotions, and displays Qualifications Prior experience in a nursery, garden center, landscaping, or related retail environment preferred Working knowledge of plants, gardening, and basic horticulture practices Previous leadership or supervisory experience strongly preferred Strong customer service and communication skills Ability to work outdoors in varying weather conditions Ability to lift, move, and carry merchandise (up to 50 lbs) as needed Reliable, organized, and detail-oriented with the ability to multitask Schedule Requirements Flexible availability including weekends, holidays, and peak seasonal periods Physical Requirements Prolonged standing, walking, bending, and lifting Ability to work outdoors for extended periods Why Join Our Team Opportunity to lead and grow within a dynamic outdoor retail environment Hands-on role working with plants and outdoor products Supportive team-oriented workplace with seasonal variety CNRG offers a range of benefits for both Full Time and Part Time employees: All levels of employment enjoy our fantastic employee discount 401k with employer match Employee Assistance Program Part-Time benefits include Paid Sick Time, Vision, Dental, Critical Illness, and an Accident plan Full-Time benefits include the additional benefits of Paid Sick Time, Medical, Vision, Dental, LTD/AD&D, STD, Life Insurance, Dependent Life Insurance, Will prep services CNRG's, Inc. complies with all applicable equal employment laws, including the Americans with Disabilities Act.
