Job Description

Job Summary Reporting to the Quality Improvement Manager, this position provides clinical leadership and oversight for the documentation review and clinical coding processes. The Lead Specialist utilizes professional clinical judgment to validate that OASIS assessments and care plans accurately reflect the patient's clinical status and meet all medical necessity requirements. This role serves as the final clinical authority for documentation disputes, mentors the Specialist, and assists the Home Care Leadership with high-level quality improvement strategies related to clinical documentation. Minimum Qualifications Education Bachelor degree required. Experience Minimum of three years' experience in Home Care documentation review and Coding required. Licensure and/or Certification Current license to practice as a Registered Nurse or Physical Therapist in Massachusetts Home Care Coding Specialist (HCS-D) required Home Care Clinical Specialist-OASIS (HCS-O), or Certification of OASIS Specialist-Clinical (COS-C) required Skills Expert knowledge of OASIS, PPS, and Medicare COP's. Advanced ability to teach and mentor clinical staff about quality documentation Strong attention to technical details. Knowledge of home care regulations as related to delivery of care. Proficient with the use of computers
