The Lead Personal Care Assistant (PCA) is a Center based PCA who, under the supervision of the Center Manager, assumes a leadership role in providing day-to-day oversight and coordination of day room routines as related to PCA responsibilities. The Lead PCA role models dependability, reliability, and exceptional customer service skills; and promotes a sense of teamwork through demonstration of self-direction and self-motivation. The PACE Personal Care Assistant (PCA) assists PACE participants with meeting identified needs throughout their stay at the Center. This includes personal care, restorative rehabilitation, meals, group and individual activities, and other duties as assigned. PCA's accompany participants on transportation as needed to ensure safety. PCA's may be assigned to assist participants with morning care in their homes; or to provide escorts to external appointments. PCA's actively contribute to the operations of the Day Center by offering suggestions for activities programming and day center workflows and routines. PCA's are members of the Interdisciplinary Team (IDT) and contribute to participant care planning and assessments.Essential Duties & Responsibilities Leadership & Teamwork Demonstration of Leadership Qualities:
Role models dependability, reliability, and exceptional customer service skills Works well with others in a collaborative way Works well when unsupervised Can move from one assignment to another (multi-task) Promotes a sense of teamwork through demonstration of self-direction and self-motivation Assumes a leadership role in orienting, training, and mentoring new employees and in providing input for continuous improvement Lead PCA Responsibilities Provides day-to-day oversight of day room routines as related to PCA responsibilities Lends support to PCA staff related to daily assignments and participant care In collaboration with Recreation Therapist or designee, modifies PCA assignments, incorporating new enrollee tasks and day center schedule adjustments. Seeks supervision from Center Manager as needed Assumes leadership role, alongside recreation staff, in adjusting assignments and responsibilities based on daily staffing changes Provides coverage for PCA absences Attends morning meeting and communicates relevant information to day room staff Serves as a liaison between PCA's, recreation staff, and theIDT Education :
High School required; college degree preferredBLS Certification HHA Certification/ CNA License Experience:
Strong computer skills (Windows, Outlook, EMR preferred) Able to work effectively with Interdisciplinary Team Excellent critical thinking skills; ability to prioritize and problem-solve independently Ability to work well in a fast-paced, multi-functional environmentSkills/Abilities:
