Lead Retail Sales Associate

The Lead Sales Associate plays a key role in the daily success of a small, community-focused consignment shop. This position is ideal for a self-starter who thrives in a close-knit environment where customers are treated like close friends. In addition to driving sales and delivering exceptional customer service, this role involves evaluating incoming consigned items, pricing merchandise, and accurately entering inventory into the system. The Lead Sales Associate also supports store operations and provides guidance to a team that includes teenage staff members.

Key Responsibilities:

Serve as a primary point of contact for customers, ensuring a positive and engaging shopping experience Demonstrate strong product knowledge and actively assist customers with recommendations and purchases Take initiative in maintaining store appearance, merchandising, and inventory organization without direct supervision Lead daily floor operations, stepping in to resolve issues and keep workflows running smoothly Supervise, coach, and support teen staff, promoting accountability, teamwork, and a respectful work environment Provide clear direction and feedback to team members to improve performance and customer interactions Assist in training new employees, with a focus on customer service standards and sales techniques Handle customer concerns professionally and escalate issues when necessary Support opening and closing procedures, including cash handling and basic reporting

Qualifications:

High school diploma or equivalent required; additional education a plus Local to the area with reliable transportation Previous retail or sales experience preferred, with some leadership or supervisory experience Strong communication and interpersonal skills Demonstrated ability to work independently and take initiative as a self-starter Customer service-driven mindset with a positive, solution-oriented attitude Ability to effectively lead and motivate a diverse team, including teenage employees Reliable, organized, and capable of multitasking in a fast-paced environment

Pay:

$18.00 - $22.00 per hour
