JOB OVERVIEW

We are seeking a detail-oriented and driven Staff Accountant to support our Finance & Accounting team. This role will play a vital part in maintaining accurate financial records, assisting with budgeting and forecasting, and supporting our operations across multiple locations. Reporting to the Director of Finance/Accounting, you'll help ensure our financial processes are efficient, compliant, and scalable as the company grows.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES

Assist in preparing budgets, financial forecasts, and tax reports, while tracking actual performance against budget. Reconcile bank statements, general ledger accounts, and other financial accounts to ensure accuracy and resolve discrepancies. Provide financial insights to field operations teams, including variance analysis and performance reporting. Report daily banking activity, including check deposits, cash balances, and credit card transactions. Generate accounts payable invoices as directed by the Director of Finance. Analyze and manage corporate credit card activity and First Data transaction reporting. Deliver high-quality customer service to internal teams, vendors, and external stakeholders. Recommend and assist in the implementation of improved accounting policies, systems, and procedures. Create ad-hoc financial reports, including product tracking, LTO (limited-time offer) performance, and daypart sales analysis. Escalate significant discrepancies or financial irregularities to finance leadership. Prepare monthly, quarterly, and annual financial statements including balance sheets, income statements, and cash flow statements. Maintain accurate records of financial transactions, including journal entries, A/P, and A/R. Support internal and external audits by organizing documentation and responding to audit inquiries. Perform additional financial analysis and support as requested by the Director of Finance.

QUALIFICATIONS

Bachelor's degree in Accounting or Finance. 2-4 years of relevant accounting experience. Solid understanding of GAAP (1 year experience preferred). Advanced proficiency in Microsoft Excel (e.g., pivot tables, lookups, modeling). Experience with Paylocity, Workday, or similar accounting and HRIS systems is a plus. Prior experience in a multi-unit restaurant, hospitality, or retail environment preferred. Excellent communication and interpersonal skills. Self-starter who thrives in a fast-paced, remote-first environment. High attention to detail, with the ability to manage multiple priorities.
