Job Description

Position:
Security Liaison Team Lead (Full-Time)
Facility:
Ripley s Aquarium of Canada Reports to:
Manager of Security Services Job Purpose:
Reporting to the Manager of Security Services and you will be responsible for overseeing and supervising all the Aquarium security team on weekends and work with the manager on duty. The friendly face of security will have a main responsibility of assisting Guests, Staff and Security Liaisons. The Security Liaison Team Lead will also be involved with property patrols, escorting cash, identifying and rectifying potential, current and existing hazards, disarming hostile situations, crowd control, first aid coverage, maintaining a daily log, and as required, completing incident reports. Security will communicate any suspicious, dangerous, emergency or hostile situations to the Supervisor and diffuse them according the Ripley s Aquarium of Canada protocol. Although the Security Department will be trained and involved in all security procedures, they will not portray an intimidating presence while patrolling the building and site. Please remember that due to the nature of our business, we work when others play in an attraction that is open 365 days of the year! You will be expected to be regularly available to work any shift during, before or after these hours of operation.
Critical Accountabilities:
Take the lead and answer any questions Security staff may have The primary responder for first aid calls Make wise decisions in the absence of the Security Manager or Assistant Manager The ability to lead the team on weekends and work in tandem with the Manager on Duty Provide clear and concise Incident Reports when required To ensure the actions taken by fellow Security team members are congruent with the standards outlined in the Security Standards Operations Procedures Responsible for delivering Security services to the organisation with direct responsibility for the day-to-day activities of the Security Maintain order and manage crowds, line ups Emergency preparedness Enforce regulations of Ripley s Aquarium of Canada Using telecommunications i.e. two way radios, ensure safety and emergency procedures are followed Attend to persons with special needs or requirements Respond to alarms and other emergency situations Detect or prevent threats, thefts and vandalism Discreetly handle details of a highly confidential and critical nature Security will be onsite for events as they occur, providing the necessary resources to our clients i.e. corporate functions, parties, weddings etc.
Special Skills and Requirements:
Law and Security College Diploma and / or equivalent work experience Ontario Security Guard License. AED, CPR and First Aid Certificate. Be physically and mentally capable of performing the duties of the position, having regard to your own safety and the safety of others Candidates will need to pass a Toronto Police Services security clearance and background investigation Energetic, courteous and professional Team player with a passion for their work!
Pay Rate:
