Job Description
Job Overview We are seeking a dynamic and experienced Lead Sports Physical Therapist to join our dedicated on-site MOJO SportClinic healthcare team. MOJO Health, Inc, offers nationwide physical therapy services through MOJO Chat. a Closed AI hybrid-care model with a team of therapists and partner clinics across all 52 states. At our beautiful coastal Wilmington, NC 8 000 sqft. outpatient clinic we offer cash based fee for service physical therapy services. In this pivotal role, you will lead the delivery of specialized physiotherapy services focused on sports-related injuries, rehabilitation, injury prevention and sports performance. Your expertise will guide a team of kinesiologists, trainers and technicians, coordinate care plans, and ensure optimal patient/athlete outcomes in a unique cash based outpatient clinic setting, training favility, and community-based programs. This is an exciting opportunity to work with a diverse variety of athletes as you influence recovery journeys, promote active lifestyles, and advance sports medicine practices within a vibrant healthcare environment. Responsibilities Lead the implementation of comprehensive care plans tailored to athletes and active individuals recovering from injury or surgery. Oversee patient care delivery in our outpatient clinic, ensuring adherence to best and curent sports practices in physiotherapy. Conduct detailed initial assessments focusing on sports physiology and anatomy knowledge to diagnose injuries accurately and determine appropriate treatment strategies. Manage discharge planning processes, ensuring smooth transitions from clinic to full return to sports, home or community care environments. Supervise and mentor junior therapists, students, kinesiologists, personal trainers and technician staff, fostering professional growth while maintaining high standards of patient care. Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams including physicians, orthopedic specialists, sports medicine professionals and coaches to optimize treatment outcomes. Utilize electronic medical record (EMR) systems efficiently for documentation, progress tracking, and communication within the care team. Incorporate specialized techniques such as trigger point therapy, taping and orthopedics-focused interventions, including various modalities to enhance recovery processes. Maintain thorough documentation of patient progress, treatment modifications, and clinical notes in compliance with healthcare regulations. Stay current with advancements in sports physiotherapy, orthopedics, and community care practices to continually elevate service quality. Qualifications Valid NBPT licensure as a licensed Physical Therapist with relevant certifications in sports physiotherapy practice. NC PT licensure or eligibilty
APTA SCS
Certification preferred. Proven experience in outpatient clinics, inpatient hospital settings, collegian, or other team sports medicine environments. Strong knowledge of physiology, anatomy, medical terminology, sports medicine and orthopedic rehabilitation techniques. Demonstrated expertise in discharge planning, care plan development, and patient education across diverse sports elite-athlete populations including pediatrics and geriatrics. Previous experience with sports physical therapy preferred. Competitive Sports/athletics background preferred. Familiarity with EMR systems for efficient documentation and communication. Excellent interpersonal skills with the ability to lead a team effectively while providing compassionate patient care. Ability to manage multiple priorities in fast-paced environments such as hospitals, training rooms or outpatient clinics.
