The Lead is responsible for an assigned manufacturing area. They will assist and support the supervisor with employee training, safety adherence, department performance, product quality, process improvement, and meeting production target goals. Compliance with all safety requirements, product quality standards, and company policies are essential functions of this role. Enforces strict safety guidelines and ensures environmental compliance is being adhered to by employees. Responsible for ensuring that the department is running efficiently and within standards for productivity, labor, and raw materials. Completes department audits and ensures assigned safety and compliance training is being completed and upheld by employees. Provides coaching and training to improve employee performance and acknowledges positive results when achieved. Recommends staffing adjustments including hours, shifts, and overtime to meet area specific objectives. Oversees and maintains a clean work environment. Monitors and reports department issues. Assists with identifying and implementing process improvements within the department. Communicates the needs of the department to the supervisor, to ensure that the proper resources are available to meet production target goals. Adheres to and communicates the policies of the company to employees and follows-up that those requirements are met.? Responsible for tracking and reporting daily production metrics to the supervisor. Other assigned duties as needed.
