Director of Music

Director of Music Position Christ Lutheran Church, Sharon is seeking applicants for a part time Director of Music. The ideal candidate will bring a wealth of experience in organ and/or piano and have the skills and leadership abilities necessary to direct both a vocal choir and a bell choir.

Key Responsibilities:

Provide organ & piano music for worship services and other special events. Direct the vocal choir in rehearsals and performances, ensuring high-quality choral music. Lead the bell choir, including rehearsals, performances, and providing guidance to bell ringers of varying skill levels. Collaborate with the pastoral staff to select appropriate music for worship services. Foster an environment of musical growth and community engagement within the music ministry.

Qualifications:

Extensive experience playing the organ with proficiency in a variety of musical styles. Demonstrated ability to direct choirs, including vocal and bell choirs. Strong leadership and communication skills, with the ability to inspire and work with volunteers. A solid understanding of sacred music and its role in worship. Prior experience in a church or other musical ministry setting is preferred. Availability for regular weekly rehearsals and Sunday services.

Hours & Compensation:
