Job Description
Overview Join our vibrant summer camp community as a Lead Summer Camp Counselor and ignite the spirit of adventure, learning, and growth in young minds! In this dynamic role, you will serve as a guiding leader, inspiring children through engaging activities, fostering a safe environment, and demonstrating exceptional childcare and educational skills. Your enthusiasm and dedication will help create unforgettable summer experiences that promote childhood development, teamwork, and fun. This paid position offers an exciting opportunity to make a positive impact while honing your leadership and teaching abilities in a lively camp setting. Duties Lead and supervise groups of children during daily camp activities, ensuring safety and engagement at all times Plan, organize, and execute a variety of recreational, educational, theatrical, sports coaching, and arts & crafts activities tailored to different age groups Manage behavior effectively through positive reinforcement and classroom management techniques to maintain a respectful and inclusive environment Provide first aid when necessary, adhering to safety protocols to address minor injuries or health concerns promptly Support children with special education needs by implementing individualized strategies and accommodations Foster teamwork and social skills among campers through group activities and Christian counseling principles when appropriate Collaborate with fellow counselors to ensure smooth daily operations and communicate effectively with parents about camper progress or concerns Experience Prior experience working with children in settings such as daycare, babysitting, tutoring, or camp environments is highly valued Demonstrated classroom management skills and knowledge of childhood development principles Certification in first aid and CPR is preferred; willingness to obtain if not already certified Background in early childhood education, special education, or related fields enhances your ability to support diverse needs Experience in sports coaching, theater arts, or childcare roles will contribute to creating engaging camp programs Strong communication skills with the ability to work collaboratively within a team-oriented environment Passion for working with children and fostering their growth through fun, safe, and meaningful activities Embark on an inspiring summer journey where your leadership transforms children's lives!
