The Lead Technology Systems Specialist (TSS) is responsible for effective provisioning, planning, implementation, installation/configuration, operation, and maintenance of systems hardware and software and related infrastructure. This individual participates in technical research and development to enable continuing innovation within the infrastructure. This individual ensures that system hardware, operating systems, software systems, and related procedures adhere to the county school system. The Lead TSS is also assigned to support and maintain local computer workstations, or other computer related systems or technologies.Qualifications:
Hold a minimum of an associate's degree from an accredited institution of higher education, as defined in §126-136-4.5. Documented 3 years' experience in the following: Server administration Data Center Management Low Voltage system Power Platform development Network configuration and troubleshooting Server configuration, administration, diagnostics and performance Enterprise level LAN and WAN environment Network Switch installation and configurationCISCO WLAN
Controller installation and configuration RADIUS, DNS, DHCP, Active Directory VMWare, vSphere, vCenter 802.11x & Wireless Access Point installation and configuration WAN Firewall & Filtering Microsoft Windows 2008 and above SharePoint Development Solid understanding of the OSI or TCP/IP modelDESIRED QUALIFICATIONS AND SPECIALIZED TRAININGS
Experience in using VMware, vCenter, vSphere, Microsoft Server Experience in using firewalls and bandwidth management. Experience in structured cabling design and installation. Knowledge in using Verkada, Security Systems, and IP Phone Systems Experience in using various software imaging Experience in Classroom Management and Remote Desktop Access & Control Experience in Apple Mac Server OSX Experience in Mobile Device Management (MDM) Knowledge of Microsoft Hyper-V Server Minimum of 5 years of experience in technology support or technology-related field (preferred). Possesses knowledge of hardware and technical software operations for local area networks, servers and operating system software, computer workstations, iPads, peripherals, and related educational technologies Demonstrates ability to operate technology equipment and use standard software programs such as word processor, presentation software and spreadsheets Knowledge of basic hardware and software equipment Knowledge of backup and recovery procedures Ability to maintain accurate detailed records Ability to understand technical manuals and apply the methods to correct personal computer or LAN/WAN operational problems Demonstrates skills in effective communication Ability to work under stressful circumstances, including deadlines and interruptions. Demonstrates strong interpersonal skills Ability to establish and maintain effective working relationship with other employees Possesses organizational skills Communicates effectively with all levels of technology user DUTIES andRESPONSIBILITIES
Works with the school principals, and school personnel to provide access to technology resources and services. Be responsible for the planning, designing, configuring, installing, and maintaining of all components of data center and network. Reporting network operational status by gathering and prioritizing information; managing projects. Establishes networking environment by designing system configuration; directing system installation; defining, documenting, and enforcing system standards. Maximizes performance by monitoring performance; troubleshooting network problems and outages; scheduling upgrades; collaborating with network architects on network optimization. Secures network system by establishing and enforcing policies; defining and monitoring access. Must have documented evidence of positive work evaluations Develop and maintain accurate system design maps, records, and configurations. Attend county, regional, state meetings as may be necessary Responsible for the documentation, inventory, installation, configuration, service maintenance, repairs, modifications, and upgrades on local area networks (LANs), computers, iPads, workstations, peripherals, electronic whiteboards, data projectors, operating systems, software and other technology related components Contacts appropriate resources (county, State Contract Vendors, warranty providers, etc.) for additional assistance; Assist in the process to determine and implement security policies and procedures Plan, test and deploy networking products, software and migrations Manage users, permissions and security settings Configure and manage anti-virus and risk management applications Install and configure network versions of software Plan, implement, manage and provide routine maintenance to all computers Research any misuse and abuse of computer, network or Internet privileges Performs data back-up and recovery procedures Assists with training teachers in equipment operations Maintains logs of equipment and software problems Provides technical expertise, guidance and informal training to teachers and students using hardware and software programs Maintains security and door systems Maintains internal phone systems Implements state and county board policies, state and federal regulations, administrative rules and regulations. Utilizes resources of the school system and the community in developing the most effective educational program. Develops rules and regulations for the successful operation of the program. Performs such duties as may be assigned by the Superintendent and the Assistant Superintendent pursuant to the rules and regulations of the county board of education. Works in conjunction with the Facilities Management, directs the functions of the Office of Technology Technicians and Technology Integration Specialists. Work with the wireless phone provider, provide maintenance, training and support to staff members. Implements the State and County Technology Plan Assists with obtaining grants to fund the plan Develops a timeline for the implementation of the plan Serves as a member of the Technology Planning Committee Assists schools with their technology plans to the extent that they further the county technology plan Assists with the continual evaluation of the use of instructional technology. Facilitates the schools in their advancements in the use of technology. orks with WVDE e-rate contact to provide continued e-rate support for technology infrastructure and bandwidth. Maintains collaboration with the WVDE Office of Technology, various department directors/coordinators in Randolph County Schools, and partnerships with other entities to continually move technology, technology integration and staff/student opportunities forward. Assists all schools with telephone service. Provides technical support when needed and works collaboratively with provider to replace faulty equipment. Organizes, Manages and Coordinates the State Initiatives in Technology and Technology Integration Works cooperatively with various state contract vendors to provide services for state initiatives. Helps to provide services which can include: Staff development onsite, evening/summer, online, conferences Ordering equipment, supplies, etc. Identifies and monitors all sites for needed equipment/cabling/ infrastructure purchases to help support job related/instructional purposes Provides support and training to administrators on a work-order system which will help coordinate the technicians in the Office of Technology Helps coordinate and maintain the Nicholas County Schools District website. Helps coordinate and provide support to schools/departments to maintain individual school/department websites. Helps coordinate District Calendar and School Calendar and provides info to local media about current events. Works with website company to develop an app for iOS/android devices. Helps coordinate, support, and maintain Nicholas County Schools communication portals to provide text, email, phone call and social media outreach methods. Assist schools with the use of the communication portals and use the portal in ways that will help promote attendance and student success. Provides support and training on how to showcase school events publicly. Utilizes wireless devices with administrators. Performs related duties as assigned by the Superintendent of SchoolsPHYSICAL DEMANDS
