Position Summary
We are seeking a driven and improvement-focused engineer to lead and support continuous improvement initiatives within the plant. This role will play a key part in advancing operational performance through industrial engineering principles, lean methodologies, and standardized process documentation.
The ideal candidate will be passionate about developing people, improving processes, and driving measurable business results. Key Responsibilities Lead and execute continuous improvement initiatives to improve safety, quality, delivery, and cost performance
Apply industrial engineering principles to evaluate process capacity, identify constraints, and implement improvements aligned with business goals
Serve as a Lean Event Subject Matter Expert (SME), including planning, facilitating, and sustaining kaizen events
Coach and develop team members in lean tools and problem-solving methodologies
Develop, standardize, and improve process documentation, including work instructions and standardized work
Analyze production issues and implement sustainable corrective actions
Support equipment implementation, layout improvements, and process start-up activities
Collaborate cross-functionally with operations, quality, and engineering teams to drive results
Prepare and present project updates, business cases, and improvement results to leadership Minimum Qualifications 2- or 4-year degree in Business, Engineering, or a related disciplineOR8-15 years of related manufacturing experience
Strong ability to lead and execute projects and drive results
Effective communication skills across shop floor, support staff, and leadership
Ability to lead teams, facilitate discussions, and train others
Strong organizational, analytical, and problem-solving skills
Ability to work independently and collaboratively in a manufacturing environment
Must be able to meet physical job requirements consistent with an industrial setting Preferred Qualifications Experience applying industrial engineering methods (capacity analysis, line balancing, process optimization)
Proven experience leading and facilitating lean events (Kaizen, VSM,SMED,5S)
Strong background in process documentation and standard work development
Working knowledge of ISO 9001
2015 quality management systems
Experience with PFMEA development and risk assessment methodologies
Demonstrated project management experience, including planning, execution, and tracking results
Familiarity with process capability, SPC, GD&T, or manufacturing process controls What Success Looks Like in This Role Improved process flow and capacity aligned to business needs
