The RN Nursing Supervisor is a full-time position mainly located in the office daily acting as a resource and leader for our interdisciplinary home health and hospice team, patients, families, and community partners. What You Will Do The Nursing Supervisor is responsible for the supervision, orientation, instruction and on-going evaluation of all patient care staff who are engaged in the delivery of care. The Nursing Supervisor assures compliance with agency policies and procedures, state and federal laws, regulations and accreditation standards. In this role you will be responsible for the management of staff nurses and the support clinical team. Included in those responsibilities are providing day to day direction to the team, administering performance reviews, coaching and providing disciplinary action when needed. The role is also accountable and responsible for driving successful clinical outcomes of the team. Job Responsibilities Oversee home health and hospice programs Schedule nurses' shifts and assign nurses to patients Ensure nursing operational standards are met Assist staff in development of plans of care and provide patient visits as needed Monitor patient progress, coordination of services, expected outcomes, and discharge Direct and evaluate nurses' and staff performance Inform family members about medical procedures and doctors' instructions Handle complaints or other issues Interview and select new employees as delegated Promote agency services to current and potential referral sources Skills Strong interpersonal skills that allow getting to know your team and patients Ability to build personal rapport, and establish trust Initiative to make independent decisions when required and accept direction Compassion for patients and their families Outstanding organizational and multi-tasking skills Excellent problem-solving skills Qualifications Proven nursing and preferably supervisory experience Team management skills Great communication and people skills Excellent organizational and problem-solving skills Driver's license and reliable, insured, vehicle Valid Ohio nursing license
