Temp To Full-Time We are seeking a dedicated and detail-oriented debt collection specialist to join our fast-paced legal office. This role requires a self-starter who can handle a high volume of accounts with efficiency and professionalism. In this role, the individual will work within the legal environment, assisting with the collection of outstanding debts. The ideal candidate must have strong communication skills, experience with debt collection, excellent communication skills, and the ability to navigate sensitive conversations with professionalism.
Key responsibilities are as follows:
Debtor Communication:
Communicate with debtors regarding their outstanding debts, payment options, and collection procedures.
Account Management:
Review and manage a high volume of delinquent accounts, ensuring timely follow-ups and resolutions. -
Legal Documentation:
Prepare and process necessary legal documents for debt recovery, including demand letters and legal filings with accuracy and attention to detail.
Independent Case Management:
Work independently to handle assigned cases, making decisions and taking actions that align with office policies and legal guidelines.
Research and Investigation:
Conduct skip tracing and other research to locate debtors and assess asset information.
Negotiation and Settlements:
Engage in negotiation with debtors to establish payment plans and settlements, adhering to legal guidelines and maximizing recovery.
Data Entry and Record Keeping:
Maintain accurate and up to date records on debt collection activities within the office's case management software.
Compliance:
Ensure compliance with all relevant laws and regulations, including the Fair Debt Collection Practices Act (FDCPA) and other applicable laws.
Qualifications:
High school diploma or equivalent Previous experience in debt collection, legal support, or a related field preferred. Strong communication and negotiation skills Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suit and case management software (CUBS) Knowledge of legal terminology and the debt collection process High attention to detail and organizational skills Ability to work independently and handle sensitive information with confidentiality
