The Letter Setter is responsible for attaching the proper names, dates and emblems to the memorial patterns according to work order specifications. This position requires a sound understanding of the vast array of lay-outs, designs, products and quality standards that are critical to the production of memorial plates.WHAT YOU'LL BE DOING
Utilize the work order to locate and pull the correct pattern based on design and size. Pick the correct emblems, letters and numbers, ranging in size " to 4", according to order specifications. Use a ruler to accurately measure and draw lines on the pattern to ensure correct placement of text as specified in the layout; ruler is also used for appropriate placement of emblems. Use an eye dropper to place small beads of melted wax in specific positions around the base of each emblem, number and letter to affix them to the pattern. Use a handheld propane torch, plastic pick, and/or wire brush to make precise adjustments to individual characters, remove excess wax, etc. Inspect (at various stages and multiple times) the pattern carefully and with great attention to detail to ensure there are no spacing or centering issues, crooked characters, gaps under characters that require additional wax and overall aesthetics. Deliver the finished pattern to a cart so that it can be brought to the molding area. Assist with the sorting and inspection of characters and emblems that are returned from molding to determine which can be reused and which need to be recycled. Use scanner for rotating and status entry.QUALIFICATIONS
