Job Description

LBS is responsible for supervising and monitoring the comprehensive/focused behavioral intervention services to clients with Autism Spectrum Disorder and other developmental delays in communication skills, social skills, adaptive living skills, toleration skills, self-regulation skills, behavior reduction, and fine motor/gross motor. The LBS is ultimately responsible for supervision of ABA services to the children and families, as well as accurate record keeping of case notes and excellent communication. The LBS maintains a weekly billable caseload of service hours as directed by the Clinical Director of ABA Services. The LBS is an graduate-level certification in behavior analysis. Professionals LBS level provide behavior-analytic services under the supervision of a Board Certified Behavior Analyst (BCBA).
Essential Job Duties:
  • Provide supervision to behavior technicians. Supervision includes observing, modeling, coaching, taking data, providing feedback and making recommendations in accordance with the BACB guidelines
  • Work collaboratively with building staff to promote positive client behavior by providing professional development that targets research, strategies and modeling of instructional practices to support staff in their implementation of positive support.
  • Conduct competencies on each behavior technician/RBT within the first 30 days of working with the client and monthly thereafter.
  • Conduct regular parent training sessions with parents/caregivers/guardians on specific goals and taking appropriate data
  • Engage parents in the process of participating in creating behavior programs for clients in order to empower parents by providing them with skills and techniques to support the positive behavior development of their child.
  • Develop materials and provide resources for and provide professional development to administrators, educators, paraprofessionals and parents/guardians.
  • Attend IEP, eligibility, or other meetings as necessary and provide related behavioral information.
  • Conduct assessments and reassessments including skills assessments and FBA in accordance with insurance policies and regulations
  • Develops treatment plans that recommend individualized, evidence-based behavioral strategies in a format accessible to staff, family members, other professionals.
  • Coordinate care with primary care physicians, other professionals at least one time per authorization
  • Uphold the company mission and core values at all times
  • Provide treatment that is in accordance with BACB's guidelines, policies, procedures, and ethical guidelines set forth by Heart & Soul

  • Maintain a professional relationship with clients and providers
  • Attend and participate in meetings and professional development activities specified by Heart & Soul

  • Complete session notes in accordance with insurance guidelines
  • Submit all paperwork by deadlines as specified by Heart & Soul

  • Manage own schedule and caseload
  • Maintain the confidentiality of information including client records (HIPAA laws), personnel information and other relevant issues
  • Communication regularly with Clinical Director regarding client's progress, provider progress, and pertinent issues
  • Perform other duties as requested.
Minimum Qualifications:
  • Individuals who provide ABA services through LBS services shall meet one of the following: o Be licensed in this Commonwealth as a psychologist, professional counselor, marriage and family therapist, clinical social worker, social worker, behavior specialist, certified registered nurse practitioner or a professional with a scope of practice that includes overseeing the provision of ABA services and have one of the following: (i) A certification as a BCaBA or other undergraduate-level certification in behavior analysis that is accredited by the National Commission for Certifying Agencies or the American National Standards Institute.
(ii) A minimum of 1 year of full-time experience providing ABA services and a minimum of 12 credits in ABA from a college or university accredited by an agency recognized by the United States Department of Education or the Council for Higher Education Accreditation or the equivalent from a foreign college or university that has been evaluated by the Association of International Credential Evaluators, Inc. or the National Association of Credential Evaluation Services. (iii) A minimum of 1 year of full-time experience providing ABA services under the supervision of a professional with a certification as a BCBA or other graduate-level certification in behavior analysis that is accredited by the National Commission for Certifying Agencies or the American National Standards Institute and a minimum of 40 hours of training related to ABA approved by the Department or provided by a continuing education provider approved by the Behavior Analyst Certification Board. (2) Be licensed in this Commonwealth as a psychologist and have a minimum of 1 year of full-time experience providing ABA services and a minimum of 40 hours of training related to ABA approved by the Department or provided by a continuing education provider approved by the Behavior Analyst Certification Board. (f) Individuals who provide ABA services through assistant behavior consultation—ABA services shall meet one of the following: (1) Have the qualifications for licensure as a behavior specialist under 49 Pa. Code § 18.524 (relating to criteria for licensure as behavior specialist) except the experience required under section 18.524(c). (2) Have a certification as a BCaBA or other undergraduate-level certification in behavior analysis that is accredited by the National Commission for Certifying Agencies or the American National Standards Institute and a bachelor's degree in psychology, social work, counseling, education or related field from a college or university accredited by an agency recognized by the United States Department of Education or the Council for Higher Education Accreditation or an equivalent degree from a foreign college or university that has been evaluated by the Association of International Credential Evaluators, Inc. or the National Association of Credential Evaluation Services. The Department will accept a general equivalency report from the listed evaluator agencies to verify a foreign degree or its equivalency. (3) Have a minimum of 6 months of experience in providing ABA services and a bachelor's degree in psychology, social work, counseling, education or related field and a minimum of 12 credits in ABA from a college or university accredited by an agency recognized by the United States Department of Education or the Council for Higher Education Accreditation or the equivalent from a foreign college or university that has been evaluated by the Association of International Credential Evaluators, Inc. or the National Association of Credential Evaluation Services. The Department will accept a general equivalency report from the listed evaluator agencies to verify a foreign degree or its equivalency. (g) By July 1, 2020, individuals who provide ABA services through BHT-ABA services shall meet one of the following: (1) Have a certification as a BCaBA. (2) Have a certification as an RBT. (3) Have a certification as a BCAT. (4) Have a behavior analysis certification from an organization that is accredited by the National Commission for Certifying Agencies or the American National Standards Institute. (5) Have a high school diploma or the equivalent of a high school diploma and have completed a 40-hour training covering the RBT Task List as evidenced by a certification that includes the name of the responsible trainer, who is certified as a BCBA or BCaBA. (6) Have a minimum of 2 years of experience in providing ABA services and a minimum of 40 hours of training related to ABA approved by the Department or provided by a continuing education provider approved by the Behavior Analyst Certification Board. Additional Eligibility Qualifications
    State Bureau of Professional and Occupational Licensing Required Education and Experience:
    • A masters degree and educational coursework completed in the areas of marriage and family therapy, child development, special education, psychology, or related field.
    • Active LBS License Oversight and evaluation of the effects of behavioral service delivery knowledge, skills and abilities:
    Technical:
    ■ Able to work with technology systems (tablets, laptops, etc.) ■ Able to utilize program management system (Theralytics) ○
    Interpersonal:
    ■ The candidate must exhibit excellent communication skills and be able to work collaboratively with staff, families, and professionals. ■ Must be able to model and implement behavior strategies to support staff and clients struggling with behavior. ■ Must exhibit sound judgment in dealing with people. ■ Must have strong organizational skills. ■ Must be able to maintain positive relationships with staff, clients, and parents.
