This dynamic position combines professional funeral directing with personalized support, ensuring each family receives respectful, dignified service. As a key member of our team, you will coordinate funeral arrangements, oversee the preparation of the deceased, and provide bereavement support with empathy and professionalism. Your expertise will help create meaningful ceremonies that honor loved ones and bring comfort to grieving families. Note •Must be licensed in the state of KY• Duties Coordinate all aspects of funeral services, including planning, scheduling, and executing arrangements in collaboration with families. Prepare the deceased for viewing or disposition, ensuring proper sanitation, cosmetology, and dissection procedures are followed with precision. Manage transportation logistics for the deceased and family members, including heavy lifting and vehicle operation. Provide compassionate bereavement support to families, offering guidance through grief processes and available resources. Oversee the maintenance of the funeral home environment, ensuring sanitation standards are upheld at all times. Conduct sales activities by explaining service options and merchandise to families while maintaining a focus on customer service excellence. Plan and coordinate memorial or funeral events, including venue setup and coordination with clergy or officiants. Ensure compliance with all health regulations related to anatomy, physiology, dissection procedures, and sanitation protocols. Skills Strong knowledge of anatomy and physiology to handle body preparation accurately and respectfully. Proven experience in funeral directing with excellent organizational skills. Exceptional customer service skills to support grieving families with empathy and professionalism. Ability to perform heavy lifting safely while managing physical demands of the role. Skilled in event planning to organize meaningful ceremonies that meet families' wishes. Knowledge of bereavement support techniques to assist families through their grief journey. Familiarity with sanitation standards and cosmetology practices relevant to body preparation. Effective sales skills to communicate service options clearly while maintaining sensitivity during difficult conversations.
