Licensed Intake Counselor FT (40 hours per week)
Days and Hours:
M-F, 8:00am to 4:30pm

could be considered The Integrated Intake Counselor at CASA-Trinity's Certified Community Behavioral Health Clinic (CCBHC) conducts comprehensive intake assessments for adults and children seeking mental health and substance use disorder services. This role gathers clinical, medical, and psychosocial information to determine diagnoses, identify service needs, and recommend the appropriate level of care within an integrated behavioral health model. The counselor works collaboratively with a multidisciplinary team—including medical providers, clinicians, care coordinators, and recovery support staff—to develop person-centered treatment plans and connect clients with the full range of services available within the CCBHC continuum of care. Key Responsibilities Conduct comprehensive intake assessments, including bio-psychosocial evaluations, to determine diagnoses, treatment needs, and level of care. Utilize clinical interviews and standardized assessment tools to evaluate mental health, substance use, medical, and social factors. Identify co-occurring mental health and substance use disorders and recommend integrated treatment approaches. Conduct risk assessments, provide crisis intervention when necessary, and develop safety plans. Initiate person-centered treatment plans and collaborate with clients to establish short- and long-term goals. Provide clients with information about available behavioral health, medical, care management, and recovery support services. Coordinate referrals to appropriate internal and external providers as part of the integrated care model. Collaborate with the multidisciplinary clinical team to ensure coordinated care. Maintain accurate and timely documentation in the electronic medical record in compliance with NYS OASAS, OMH, HIPAA, and CCBHC regulations. Participate in team meetings, supervision, and professional development activities. Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities Knowledge of mental health and substance use disorder diagnoses, including co-occurring disorders. Understanding of integrated behavioral health treatment approaches and evidence-based practices. Strong assessment, interviewing, and crisis management skills. Ability to manage a caseload and maintain accurate clinical documentation. Excellent written and verbal communication skills and ability to collaborate with multidisciplinary teams. Qualifications Master's degree in Human Services or a related field from an accredited institution. New York State clinical license preferred (LCSW, LMSW, LMHC, LMFT) or license permit (LMSW-P, LMHC-P, etc.). Experience providing clinical assessment or counseling in a mental health or substance use treatment setting preferred. Experience working with co-occurring disorders strongly preferred. Valid driver's license required. Position subject to criminal background clearance. The referenced pay range represents the minimum and maximum compensation for this job. Individual annual salaries/hourly rates will be set within the job's compensation range, and will be determined by considering factors including, but not limited to, market data, education, experience, qualifications, expertise of the individual, and internal equity considerations.
