About the
Role:
The Licensed Physical Therapist position consists of providing direct clinical work for our children at Positive Development. This position involves integrating the principles of DIR/Floortime provided in supervision and during staff training with your expertise as a Physical Therapist. For this position, you will be expected to keep your Physical Therapy license current and active. For this position, becoming paneled with private insurance and Medi-Cal will be important in future as well.
Job Description:
On a part-time basis, carry out home or community-based sessions, working on goals specifically tailored to the child and under the supervision of a clinical director Coordinate care on cases with other clinicians by writing notes for sessions promptly and/or review video clips when needed to understand a child's progress on a physical therapy goal or assessment. Attend IFSPs for Early Birds clients on caseload and assist in writing measurable goals and strategies related to the child's IFSP gross motor goals. Administer any tests or assessments related to a child's physical therapy needs, update reports by describing progress on any goals included in the child's IFSP. Attend staff supervision or trainings and participate in planning meetings for the child as guided by the Early Birds Director. Attend supervision meetings with Early Birds Director and team, to discuss cases and progress including care coordination with other staff. Learn current software used by Positive Development and follow any administrative protocols needed for all employees
Minimum Requirements:
Active Physical Therapist licensed in California Experience with children diagnosed with autism spectrum disorder (ASD) Ability to provide in-home services
