Position:
Licensed Practical Nurse (LPN) Reports to: Site Principal, Site RN, Health Services Coordinator
Supervises:
None
Qualifications:
Hold or be eligible for a current Practical Nurse License and CPR certificate. Satisfy all district requirements with regard to physical health and citizenship. Such alternatives to the above qualifications as the Board may find appropriate and acceptable.
Position Goal:
Support excellence in student learning by functioning as a member of the healthcare team in the school setting.
Essential Functions and Responsibilities:
Perform nursing care under the supervision of a registered nurse. Perform delegated Nursing Care Skills as appropriate for a Licensed Practical Nurse in compliance with the OK Nurse Practice Act and Jenks Public Schools Policies and Procedures. Maintain impeccable Infection Control Practices in all school environments. Demonstrate effective verbal, written and electronic communication skills with students, teachers, patrons and other health clinics. Document and maintain student health information in a confidential and timely manner utilizing JPS approved systems. As necessary, travel to and from school with students in District vehicles. Participate in Nursing Collaboration and implement changes as indicated. Participate in professional education opportunities as provided by both the District and the community. Perform all other duties as assigned.
Employment Terms:
Nine (9) month classified hourly contract

Reach with hands and arms overhead, above shoulder and horizontally; lift/move up to 40 pounds.
Visual Requirements:
Close, color, peripheral, depth perception, ability to adjust focus.
Hearing/Speaking Requirements:
Adequate to exchange information.
