Job Description
Join our Labor and Delivery team at UPMC as a part time Licensed Practical Nurse! This is a night shift position that includes rotating holiday and weekend shifts. This position is eligible for a sign on bonus to qualified candidates! Experienced LPNs can get $7,500 with a 2-year commitment, and grad PNs, $5,000 with a 2-year commitment. The final candidate will be placed in the appropriate rate and title by the recruitment team.
Responsibilities:
Patient Care:
Exercise sound nursing judgment based on your preparation, knowledge, and experience. Participate in planning, implementing, and evaluating nursing care using focused assessment. Act within LPN Practice guidelines, including IVs, to create a healing environment. Formulate daily goals and care plans for patients, considering their individual needs. Communicate patient conditions to other care providers and ensure comprehensive documentation. Provide patient and family education for effective care transitions.Collaboration and Communication:
Seek guidance from a licensed professional nurse when patient care needs exceed your scope of practice or ability. Collaborate with the health care team to achieve desired patient outcomes. Build compassionate relationships with patients, families, and colleagues. Maintain productive working relationships and demonstrate accountability, enthusiasm, and commitment. Understand cultural differences and promote healthy relationships.Professional Development:
Follow UPMC policies, guidelines, and the State Practice Act. Support the orientation and development of new LPNs and patient care staff. Continuously seek feedback and opportunities for professional improvement. Participate in organizational programs and identify process improvement opportunities. Improve patient safety, quality, and satisfaction by incorporating professional and organizational goals.Work Environment:
