12-hour shifts | 6:00 AM - 6:00 PM | Every other weekend Job Summary Ossian Care Center is seeking a confident and compassionate LPN to serve as a Charge Nurse on day shift . This role requires a strong clinical foundation, leadership skills, and the ability to think critically in a fast-paced skilled nursing environment. We are looking for someone who can lead a team, make sound decisions, and ensure high-quality care for our residents. Key Responsibilities Function as Charge Nurse , overseeing daily operations of the facility Provide direct nursing care in accordance with physician orders and care plans Administer medications and treatments safely and accurately Supervise and support CNAs to ensure quality care and accountability Monitor resident conditions and respond to changes with sound clinical judgment Communicate effectively with providers, families, and interdisciplinary team Ensure documentation is timely, accurate, and survey-ready Qualifications Current LPN license in Iowa CCDI trained (preferred) or willingness to obtain Previous experience in long-term care or skilled nursing preferred Demonstrated leadership and supervisory experience Strong critical thinking and decision-making skills Ability to manage multiple priorities and lead a team effectively Compensation & Benefits Competitive pay: $26-$34/hour (based on experience) Health, dental, vision insurance Paid time off Supportive leadership team Why Join Ossian Care Center?
