Job Description

Category Schools - LPN Nurse Job Type Contract Make a significant difference in the lives of students as a Licensed Vocational Nurse supporting children with complex medical needs in a dynamic school setting. This full-time, school-year contract role offers the opportunity to work closely with individual students (1:1) and serve as an itinerant nurse, rotating between campuses and providing essential care to those who need it most.
Key Qualifications:
Current and valid LPN or LVN licensure Previous experience in a pediatric or school nursing environment Proficiency in care for medical devices and conditions such as gastrostomy tubes, diabetes (including CGM and carb counting), bladder catharization, and medication administration (epi pens, Benadryl, etc.) Confidence in supporting students with ASD, developmental delays, and a broad age range from 4 to 22 years old Strong communication skills; bilingual Spanish is a plus but not required
Responsibilities:
Work directly 1:1 with medically fragile students, addressing daily health needs and responding to urgent situations as needed Review and implement seizure action and health plans, ensuring accuracy and individualized student support Train school staff in medical protocols and emergency procedures Build trusting connections with students and families, offering help and guidance regarding their child's healthcare Provide ongoing direct care, including medication administration and monitoring of chronic conditions This position provides a meaningful and rewarding opportunity in a supportive educational setting.
