Floating required based on unit needs Call may be required depending on staffing needs Position Summary "Navitas Healthcare, LLC" is seeking an experienced Licensed Practical Nurse (LPN) to join a dynamic Medical Surgical / GI Overflow unit. This role involves caring for patients in a high-demand overflow setting that functions as a Med/Surg Telemetry unit. The ideal candidate will demonstrate strong clinical skills, adaptability, and the ability to thrive in a fast-paced acute care environment. Flexibility to float across Med/Surg units is essential. Key Responsibilities Provide direct patient care in a Med/Surg Telemetry setting Monitor, assess, and document patient conditions and vital signs Assist with patient admissions, transfers, and discharges Perform blood glucose monitoring and testing Provide feeding tube care and management Perform Foley catheter insertion and maintenance (male and female) Administer medications (IM, SQ, oral, ophthalmic, otic) Assist with NG tube and G-tube care Support patient mobility, hygiene, and daily care activities Administer oxygen therapy (nasal cannula, face mask) Follow infection control and isolation protocols Communicate patient updates effectively with RNs and physicians Utilize SBAR for patient handoffs Document accurately using
EPIC EMR
Float to other Med/Surg units as needed Minimum Requirements Active LPN License
  • State of New York Minimum 1 year of Medical Surgical experience BLS (Basic Life Support) Certification Experience with Med/Surg Telemetry patients Proficiency with
EPIC EMR
Strong communication and patient care skills Ability to float and manage varying patient assignments Preferred Qualifications Previous charge experience Experience in Emergency Department or Telemetry settings Experience with high-acuity or overflow Med/Surg patients First-time travelers welcome Certifications & Licensure LPN License
