Job Description

Essential Duties and Responsibilities include but are not limited to the following: Conduct behavioral health assessments and comprehensive biopsychosocial assessments of assigned clients including mental status assessment, DSM-5 and all appropriate clinical information for Treatment planning. Create original treatment plan for all assigned clients and review and evaluate progress in relation to measurable goals described in treatment plans. Coordinate, deliver, and document all treatment services throughout the treatment cycle as dictated by each client's treatment plan including Individual, Group, and Family Therapy as well as other services as needed. Ensure all clinical practices and services adhere to all current contracts and state and federal polices set forth by DBHDD, DCH, COA, CMOs, and others as applicable. Complete and maintain accurate records or reports regarding the client's history and progress, services provided, progress notes, orders, evaluations and recommendations. Complete and submit any required outpatient treatment requests as needed/required per client payer.

  • Complete training necessary to perform position consistent with program and agency staff development plans as well as maintain continuing education for professional license.

Communicate openly to establish and maintain effective working relationship with people at all levels. Utilize appropriate Sanctuary tools when interacting with colleagues and residents/clients. Demonstrate an understanding and adhere to the seven commitments of Sanctuary when carrying out work responsibilities. Develop and maintain effective therapeutic relationships. Confer with client to develop post treatment activities. Maintain and keep all assigned clients' file current and meet all deadlines per program policy and procedure. Effectively communicate written information to the right people in such a way as to establish an accurate record of each client's progression. Responsible for reporting all reportable incidents to the Clinical Director and Child Protective Services, if applicable. Acts as a liaison between the Agency and its collaterals. Establishes and maintains an environment that promotes the safety of the clients. Ability to utilize Collaborative Documentation. Meet weekly billable hour requirement. Participate in weekly rotating on call schedule to provide on call crisis services to clients. Attend clinical meetings and treatment reviews as assigned by the Clinical Director. Other duties as assigned. Education and/or Work Experience Requirements include but are not limited to the following: Must possess a Masters Degree in Social Work, psychology, or other human service or behavioral science field. Current Georgia Clinical license preferred; license eligible status considered. Must have a minimum of two years of clinical experience working with children, adolescents and/or adults. Knowledge of principles, methods and procedures for diagnosis, treatment and rehabilitation of mental and emotional dysfunctions. Knowledge of human behavior and performance; human development; individual differences in ability, personality and interests; learning and motivation; and the assessment and treatment of behavioral and affective disorders. Knowledge of principles and processes for providing customer and personal services, this includes meeting quality standards for services.

Ability to appropriately handle confidential information. Ability to understand and consistently implement policies and procedures of the Agency. Ability to interact and work cooperatively and effectively with other personnel and residents/clients. Ability to show sensitivity and responsiveness to cultural difference in the service population. Essential Physical Requirements:
Receive satisfactory results for a pre-employment physical, ten panel drug screen and TB test. Responsibilities include a high tolerance for stress. Being able to accept constructive criticism and dealing calmly and effectively with high stress situations. Necessary stamina and temperament to work with children, adolescents, and adults who are experiencing crisis and/or emotional and/or behavior disorders.
  • Responsibilities include typing and sitting at a computer for both long and short durations of time as well as using peripheral devices such as a mouse and keyboard.
Ability to operate office equipment including copiers, peripheral devices, etc. Responsibilities include repetitive hand movements such as typing. Responsibilities may include bending, stooping or kneeling for short durations of time. Responsibilities include some travel. Responsibilities include some evening and weekends.
DATEP THERAPISTS
Ability to successfully complete the Crisis Aggression Limitation Management training program and conduct physical interventions as taught by the instructor. Examples (1) Escorting a child by the arm to de-escalate; (2) Support a child's movement to a seated position to the floor or to a chair.
