Job Description

Job Title:
Escrow Officer (New Jersey)
Job Summary:
The Escrow Officer is responsible for managing and overseeing real estate closing transactions from start to finish. This role ensures that all funds, documents, and legal requirements are handled accurately and in compliance with New Jersey state regulations. The Escrow Officer acts as a neutral third party, coordinating between buyers, sellers, lenders, and real estate professionals to facilitate smooth and timely closings.
Key Responsibilities:
Open, manage, and close escrow accounts for residential and/or commercial real estate transactions Review purchase agreements, contracts, and closing instructions for accuracy and completeness Coordinate and order all necessary title and property-related searches, including municipal, tax lien, and judgement searches and ensure a clear and marketable title. Review search results for accuracy, completeness and potential issues that could delay closing Coordinate with lenders, real estate agents, attorneys, and title companies Prepare and review closing documents, including settlement statements (e.g., ALTA/CD) Ensure compliance with New Jersey real estate laws, title insurance requirements, and company policies Ensure proper recording of legal documents Resolve title issues, discrepancies, or closing delays Maintain accurate records of all transactions and communications Provide excellent customer service to clients throughout the closing process
Qualifications:
High school diploma or equivalent (Associate's or Bachelor's degree preferred) 2+ years of escrow, title, or real estate closing experience (NJ experience strongly preferred) Strong understanding of New Jersey real estate closing procedures Knowledge of title insurance, escrow processes, and closing documentation Familiarity with Qualia title and escrow software required Excellent attention to detail and organizational skills Strong communication and interpersonal abilities Ability to manage multiple transactions under tight deadlines Licensing / Requirements (New Jersey): Notary Public Title Insurance Producer License Compliance with New Jersey Department of Banking and Insurance regulations
Work Environment:
Office-based with occasional travel for local closings when needed Fast-paced environment with deadline-driven workload Frequent interaction with clients and real estate professionals
Pay:
$65,000.00 - $75,000.00 per year
