Job Description

Join a Leading Equine Veterinary Team The Piedmont Equine Practice is seeking a Licensed Veterinary Technician to join our established equine hospital in The Plains, Virginia. This is an excellent opportunity for a veterinary technician looking to build a long-term career in equine medicine, surgery, anesthesia, emergency care, and advanced diagnostics . Our hospital provides comprehensive equine veterinary services to a diverse caseload, including performance horses, sport horses, and general equine patients. We are looking for a technician who is passionate about high-quality patient care, enjoys working in a collaborative hospital setting, and is eager to continue learning. Key Responsibilities Assist veterinarians with equine examinations, diagnostics, and treatment plans Provide nursing care for hospitalized equine patients Support equine anesthesia for surgical and diagnostic procedures Assist with advanced imaging, including CT and nuclear scintigraphy Prepare and monitor patients during surgery and recovery Participate in emergency and critical care cases Communicate professionally with horse owners and clients Maintain accurate medical records and treatment notes Support overall hospital operations and patient care workflow Services Offered at Our Hospital Our equine practice offers advanced veterinary services including: Preventive and wellness care Sports medicine Lameness evaluations Equine surgery Dentistry Diagnostic imaging CT scans Nuclear scintigraphy Intensive care 24-hour emergency services Schedule & Work Environment This position requires 36-40 hours per week . While primarily a day shift, it does include on call shifts for both evenings, weekends and holidays as needed. We understand the importance of work-life balance and create schedules in advance whenever possible. Additional stipends are provided for on-call shifts.
