Job Description
Licensed Veterinary Technician in a People-First, Fear Free Practice in Alexandria, VA. Who We Are:
We opened in 2019 with one doctor and four support staff. Since then, we've grown into a thriving team of 4 doctors, a bodyworks/massage therapist, and a support team of 20+ people. We survived the pandemic, doubled down on culture, and became Northern Virginia's first Fear Free Certified hospital. We operate more like a family doctor for pets, taking 30-60 minutes per appointment, so clients never feel rushed, and our team doesn't feel overwhelmed.Our values guide everything:

Who You Are We're looking for a seasoned Licensed Veterinary Technician with: 2+ years of technical experience Strong emotional intelligence, organization, and people skills A love for pets and a genuine enjoyment of working with humans A fast-paced learning style and a go-getter attitude Charisma and the ability to build trust with clients and teammates Clear, confident communication in person and over the phone The ability to stay calm on hectic days A self-aware approach to burnout prevention Someone who stays curious, looks for ways to keep improving, and genuinely wants to grow in this field A desire to help others develop and thrive We want a licensed technician who supports the team, elevates standards, and protects our culture.What You Will Do:
This role blends leadership with hands-on technician work. You'll work 35-40 hours per week, Monday - Friday, with rotating Saturdays, and occasional cat boarding.Your responsibilities include:
Training & mentoring the technical team Ensuring protocols and medical standards are followed Supporting medical knowledge, client communication, and workflow efficiency Helping with appointment flow Maintaining a supportive, professional, and positive environment Your technical work will include: Assisting doctors in appointments Surgical prep and anesthesia for surgeries and dentals Phlebotomy, PRP, PulseVet shockwave therapy Radiographs (dental and full body) Laser therapy & Ultrasounds Educating clients & your teammates Fear Free handling Vaccinations, nail trims, cytology, and ear treatments IDEXX in-house lab work & machine maintenance Prescriptions and pharmacy support Housekeeping and team support Welcoming puppy and kitten appointmentsWhat We Offer You:
