Full Job Description Job Summary:

Immediate hire for Home Care LVN 1:1 care in Escondido/Valley Center area. LVN will also have a caregiver to assist with duties.

Position:

High-Acuity Night-Shift Private Duty

LVN 7PM-7AM

shift, 3 days/week 1. Physical & Safety Requirements of nurse on this special case

Physical Fitness:

Must be able to physically lift, support, and transfer at least 75 lbs.

Height Requirement:

Minimum height of 5'5" required to safely support patient during ambulation.

Nursing Behavioral Support:

Must physically re-direct behaviors in this autistic patient while awake. I.e..offer sensory tubing, IPAD , leg massage, adjust pillows for comfort, check headphones, offer hydration, etc. 2.

Clinical Care & Experience Condition Expertise:

Proven experience managing patients with epilepsy and severe behavioral autism or other type of developmental disabilities.

Critical Skills:

High acuity developmentally disabled case requiring sharp critical thinking to safely execute complex catheterization orders.

Seizure Monitoring:

Continuous, vigilant observation for nocturnal seizures while the patient is sleeping as oer doctor's orders.

Rescue Administration :

Administer rescue IN valtoco as per doctor's orders and apply 02 as per doctor's orders. Monitor vitals per doctor's orders. 3.

Shift Expectations & Professional Boundaries Strict Awake Night Shift:

Absolutely no sleeping, napping, or personal cell phone distractions permitted during shifts. All attention should be on patient. If nurse needs to step away from bed they are to immedialy alert the 2nd staff caregiver they need to step away to use bathroom, eat or drink something, communication important for team work and patient safety.

Duties Only:

No personal homework, reading material, or outside projects allowed during shift hours. NO Personal phone calls or business taken during shifts.

Professional Conduct:

Keep all personal matters and drama entirely separate from the workplace.

Data Collection:

Must write clear, legible clinical notes on-site before the end of every shift. 4. Respite Private home

Accommodations Kitchen Use:

Access to an on-site microwave and coffee maker is provided, to be used with the reminder this is the patient's private home. Use respectfully.

Food Storage:

Please bring meals in a self-contained cooler as staff food is not to be placed near patients food or medicine in frig; limited refrigerator space is available for staff drinks only.

Pay:

$35.00 - $40.00 per hour
