Job Description
Job Summary:
To monitor swimmers, enforce safety rules and policies, and rescue distressed swimmers to provide a safe and fun environment for swimmers of all abilities.Responsibilities:
Work with the other lifeguards in the pool to facilitate and enforce a safe swimming environment, which includes: 1. Work with the other guards to provide lessons on swimming and water safety techniques and practices to children and adults as needed; 2. Enforcing safety standards and policies among swimmers; 3. Monitoring swimmers; 4. Rescuing distressed swimmers as needed; 5. Provide assistance and/or accommodations to include participants with disabilities when able and appropriate to do so in accordance with agency operating procedures. Work 20- 35 hours per week (once campers arrive) on a variable schedule. Must be available M-F, Noon
- 4pm for summer camp, and able to work evenings and weekends as needed, a minimum of once per week for pool parties, during June, July, and August.
Other Responsibilities:
- Follow all agency operating procedures and safety protocols.
- Maintaining a clean work area, including the pool, Pool House, and chemical room.
- Attending Agency meetings assigned.
- Performing other duties as assigned.

Qualifications:
Completed Lifeguarding Certification from a nationally recognized organization (American Red Cross, American Lifeguard Association, YMCA, United States Lifeguarding Association, etc.), including First Aid, CPR, and AED training.- Complete copies of all certifications must accompany the job application when submitted.
