Job Description

We have a rare opening in our Lifestyle Enrichment department. Goodhue Living is an assisted living and dementia care building right in Goodhue, MN. This position will be a combination of coordination and facilitation of engaging activities for our residents.
Experience:
1-3 years working in a relatable position, computer skills, previous caregiver experience preferred. Applicant should be organized and detailed in their work and be able to make changes and adjustments as needed. Be able to speak in front of a group and also be able to meet with residents and family members. Job Summary As a Lifestyle Enrichment Coordinator, you will play a vital role in enhancing the quality of life for our residents in assisted living and dementia care settings. You will design and implement engaging programs that promote social interaction, physical activity, and emotional well-being among seniors, including those with Alzheimer's and dementia. Your passion for senior care and your expertise in recreational therapy will help create an enriching environment that fosters connection and joy. Full time Monday - Friday, flexible daytime hours May require up to one saturday shift a month Eligible for Benefits What you'll do Develop and coordinate a variety of engaging activities tailored to the interests and abilities of residents, ensuring inclusivity for those with disabilities. Collaborate with healthcare professionals to assess individual needs and preferences, creating personalized care plans that support residents' well-being. Facilitate recreational therapy sessions that encourage physical movement, cognitive stimulation, and social interaction among residents. Manage schedules for activities, ensuring smooth transitions and maximum participation from residents. Provide guidance and support to staff in assisting residents with Activities of Daily Living (ADLs), promoting independence while ensuring safety. Maintain open lines of communication with families regarding resident progress, activity participation, and any concerns related to aging issues. Organize special events that celebrate holidays, milestones, or community engagement opportunities to foster a sense of belonging among residents. Stay informed about best practices in senior care, dementia care, and long-term care to continually enhance program offerings. Experience Proven experience in event planning within a senior living or healthcare environment. Background in assisted living or nursing home settings is essential; familiarity with Alzheimer's care is highly desirable. Experience working with individuals with disabilities or providing caregiving services is a plus. Strong knowledge of recreational therapy principles and practices as they relate to senior care. Excellent communication skills are required for effective interaction with residents, families, and team members. Ability to manage schedules efficiently while being adaptable to the changing needs of residents. Familiarity with aging issues counseling or social work principles is beneficial for understanding resident needs holistically. Join us as we create vibrant lifestyles for our residents!
