Duties Prepare and cook menu items according to established recipes and presentation standards, ensuring consistency and quality. Assist with menu planning by suggesting new dishes and refining existing recipes to enhance flavor profiles and presentation. Maintain food safety standards by adhering to proper food handling, storage, and sanitation procedures at all times. Support the kitchen team during busy periods by efficiently managing multiple orders and coordinating meal preparation. Handle food preparation tasks such as chopping, marinating, portioning, and assembling ingredients to streamline cooking processes. Ensure all kitchen equipment is clean, well-maintained, and properly sanitized after each shift. Collaborate with dietary department staff or dietary aides when preparing specialized meals or accommodating dietary restrictions. Qualifications Proven experience in food preparation, cooking, or a similar culinary role within a restaurant or food service environment. Strong knife skills and familiarity with various cooking techniques essential for meal preparation. Experience working in fine dining establishments or catering environments is highly desirable. Knowledge of food safety regulations and proper food handling procedures. Ability to work efficiently under pressure while maintaining attention to detail. Excellent teamwork skills with the ability to communicate effectively within a fast-paced kitchen setting. Prior experience in dietary department or dietary aide roles is a plus, demonstrating versatility in meal preparation for diverse needs.
