Job Description

The Line Service Technician plays a crucial role as the first point of contact for customers arriving at Lynchburg Regional Airport. This position involves providing exceptional customer service, marshaling aircraft, refueling various types of planes, moving aircraft in and out of hangars, and maintaining a clean and organized environment. The Line Service Technician reports directly to the Line Service Supervisor.
Key Responsibilities:
Aircraft Marshaling:
Safely guide arriving and departing aircraft on the ramp.
Customer Interaction:
Greet passengers and assist with luggage and special requests.
Refueling Operations:
Fuel charter, transient, flight school, and base aircraft according to company contracts.
Hangar Operations:
Move aircraft in and out of hangars as needed.
Fuel Inventory Management:
Monitor fuel levels in trucks and refill at the fuel farm.
Facility Maintenance:
Ensure ramp space and hangars are well-maintained, including snow removal.
Additional Services:
Provide tire pressure checks, GPU and lavatory services, deicing, and aircraft washing.
Quality Control:
Assist with quality checks as required.
Other Duties:
Perform any other duties assigned by management.
Required Skills and Qualifications:
Approach responsibilities with professionalism and a positive demeanor. Availability to work nights, weekends, and holidays. Knowledge of aircraft ground operations and handling. Familiarity with KLYH rules, regulations, and facilities. Clear and respectful communication with internal and external customers via radio. Adherence to safety, environmental, FAA, and TSA regulations. Ability to lift 75 pounds, work outdoors in varying weather conditions, and perform tasks at different elevations. Must be able to maintain full range of motion and the ability to work in confined spaces Good hand-eye coordination and peripheral vision.
