Line Technician

Maintenance Line Technician Job Description The Line Technician performs machine adjustments and light maintenance on packaging equipment to ensure efficient and reliable production. This role focuses on the lighter side of maintenance, including changeovers, minor tweaks, and basic troubleshooting, and offers a clear pathway into more advanced maintenance positions for those interested in growing their careers. Responsibilities Perform machine changeovers to support different production runs and product formats. Set up machines and equipment according to production specifications and safety standards. Make minor tweaks and adjustments to machines to improve performance and reduce downtime. Disassemble machines and components as needed for cleaning, inspection, or light maintenance. Conduct light troubleshooting on conveyor chains, sensors, and other elements of packaging equipment. Assist with preventive and corrective maintenance tasks under guidance from maintenance manager personnel. Monitor equipment performance during operation and identify issues before they impact production. Follow established maintenance procedures and documentation to ensure consistency and reliability. Collaborate with production and maintenance teams to resolve equipment issues quickly and effectively. Maintain a clean, organized, and safe work area in compliance with facility standards. Essential Skills Demonstrated mechanical inclination and comfort working with machinery and mechanical components. Experience adjusting machines or performing light preventive maintenance on production or packaging equipment. Ability to perform machine changeovers and basic machine setups. Skill in disassembling machine parts safely and correctly for maintenance or cleaning. Basic troubleshooting skills for conveyor chains, sensors, and related packaging equipment components. Understanding of preventive and corrective maintenance concepts and practices. Attention to detail and ability to follow written and verbal instructions accurately. Strong commitment to safety and adherence to established procedures. Additional Skills & Qualifications Experience as a mechanic or similar hands-on mechanical role, especially for those interested in transitioning into maintenance. Experience working as a maintenance technician or in a maintenance support capacity. Familiarity with preventive maintenance programs and routine equipment inspections. Ability to work collaboratively with production and maintenance teams in a fast-paced environment. Willingness to learn more advanced maintenance skills and grow into higher-level maintenance positions. Why Work Here? You will spend most of your time on or near production lines, performing machine setups, changeovers, adjustments, and light maintenance tasks within this well-maintained, orderly setting. Job Type & Location This is a Permanent position based out of Long Prairie, MN. Pay and Benefits The pay range for this position is $52000.00 - $65000.00/yr. Eligibility requirements apply to some benefits and may depend on your job classification and length of employment.
