Job Description

A highly respected litigation firm is seeking an Associate Attorney to join its sophisticated defense litigation practice in Kansas City. This opportunity is ideal for an attorney who enjoys complex legal issues, courtroom advocacy, and working closely with public and private sector clients on high-level litigation matters. Responsibilities Handle complex litigation matters from inception through resolution in state and federal courts Conduct legal research, motion practice, depositions, hearings, and trial preparation Draft pleadings, dispositive motions, appellate briefs, contracts, and legal memoranda Advise businesses, governmental entities, educational institutions, and insurers on litigation strategy and risk management Manage matters involving employment law, civil rights claims, municipal law, insurance defense, and related disputes Participate in mediations, arbitrations, and appellate proceedings as needed Qualifications 4+ years of litigation experience required Experience in employment, civil rights, municipal, construction, insurance defense, or general commercial litigation preferred Strong legal writing, analytical, and courtroom skills Ability to independently manage files and communicate effectively with clients Missouri license required; Kansas license is a plus This is an excellent opportunity to join a collaborative and highly regarded litigation team handling sophisticated and impactful matters across a broad range of industries and public-sector entities.
