Employment Category:
Regular Full-Time PURPOSE Provide administrative support to both the District Attorney's Office and the Assistant District Attorney. Litigation paralegal professional with at least 3 years of experience and a proven record of long-term, stable employment. The ideal candidate will assist attorneys in all phases of litigation, from case inception through trial and appeal, ensuring accuracy, timeliness, and professionalism in all case management tasks.
ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS
Professionally greet all incoming persons. Discern their need and direct them to the appropriate party, whether internal or external. Professionally answer all incoming calls and discern the immediate need. Determine the appropriate recipient of the incoming call and transfer the call after announcing it to that recipient. Provide general information where applicable and redirect incoming callers to more appropriate offices. Scan all court documents into the case management system where appropriate. Enter all-new case files from APD, OPD, and LCSO into the case management system. Assist probation in obtaining case file information upon request. Print postage and Labels as needed and ensure all outgoing mail is properly stamped and deposited in the mailbox daily. Prepare, draft, and file pleadings, motions, discovery requests/responses, and other legal documents. Organize and maintain case files, exhibits, and trial binders. Conduct legal and factual research to support case preparation. Summarize depositions, medical records, discovery responses, and other key documents. Manage deadlines, court calendars, and document production. Assist attorneys with trial preparation, including witness coordination and trial exhibits. Communicate with clients, court staff, and opposing counsel in a professional and courteous manner. Support attorneys during hearings, mediations, and trials as needed.
