In this vital role, you will be responsible for efficiently handling the receipt, storage, and dispatch of goods, ensuring smooth operations within our distribution center. The ideal candidate will possess strong warehouse experience, mechanical aptitude, and the ability to operate various heavy equipment safely. This position offers an excellent opportunity to contribute to a fast-paced logistics environment while maintaining high standards of safety and accuracy. Duties Load and unload shipments using appropriate equipment such as forklifts, clamp trucks, pallet jacks, and cranes, adhering to safety protocols. Safely handle heavy materials and perform heavy lifting tasks with proper technique to prevent injury. Operate warehouse management systems (WMS) and RF scanners for accurate order picking, shipping, and receiving documentation. Assist with order picking processes, including picker systems, ensuring correct items are selected for dispatch. Manage materials handling activities efficiently to optimize space utilization and workflow. Support shipping and receiving operations by verifying incoming and outgoing goods against documentation. Use mechanical knowledge to troubleshoot equipment issues promptly and report repairs as needed. Maintain a clean, organized warehouse environment in compliance with OSHA standards. Collaborate with warehouse supervisors to coordinate load & unload schedules and prioritize tasks. Assist in inventory management activities, including stock counts and cycle counts. Ensure compliance with safety regulations during all handling and operation procedures. Requirements Proven experience in warehouse distribution or related logistics roles; prior warehouse supervisor experience is a plus. Proficiency in operating heavy equipment such as forklifts, cranes, clamp trucks, pallet jacks, and other material handling machinery. Familiarity with warehouse management systems (WMS), RF scanners, and order picking technologies including picker systems. Knowledge of OSHA safety standards and best practices for heavy equipment operation. Mechanical aptitude with the ability to troubleshoot basic equipment issues. Strong physical stamina for heavy lifting and extended periods of standing or moving within the warehouse environment. Excellent organizational skills with attention to detail in shipping & receiving processes. Ability to work effectively as part of a team in a fast-paced setting. Construction or industrial experience is advantageous but not mandatory. This position is essential for maintaining efficient warehouse operations while emphasizing safety, accuracy, and teamwork.
