Summary:

Responsible for transporting/hauling trailers and other containers from one place to another. Operate trucks with efficiency & safety in mind.

Primary Responsibilities:

Deliver goods efficiently and on time via a heavy truck over local intercity routes Load and unload trailers Record amount and type of cargo being dumped/loaded Procure clients and orders for new delivers or swap outs and direct to home office Keep truck and associated equipment, clean and in good working order (fill up on fuel, clean truck, and wash windows, etc.) Report to a dispatcher any incidents encountered Follow all applicable traffic laws Inspect truck, trailer or other container before and after the trip; record and communicate any defects found Follow accident procedures if necessary Keep an accurate and complete log of trip Complete pre and post trip inspections and report any mechanical issues immediately Plan routes using maps, GPS or satellite tracking Tarp every load at jobsites to ensure load is completely covered Properly, safely and without property damage positioning trailers and roll offs in driveways and other locations using blocks, plywood and positioning hitch.

Skills/Requirements:

Must possess a valid CDL-A and DOT medical card Must be able to sit, kneel, crouch, stoop, crawl, balance, hear and talk Must be able to lift up to 75 pounds Must practice and promote safety first environment Must be able to function well in a physically demanding environment Must be punctual, dedicated and reliable Ability to work 8-12-hour shifts, including rotating saturdays Ability to use a cell phone to communicate via text with dispatch to receive work orders Must be able to pass criminal background check, physical and DOT drug screen Must have safe driving record, including no avoidable accidents in the past five years Must have ability to communicate professionally with customers, dispatch and internal customer service We offer competitive pay rates and benefits packages for qualified candidates.
