Job Description

Locum MD (Medical Doctor), DO (Osteopathic Doctor) Hematology Oncology Coos Bay, OR Contract Contract Description This contract position is primarily on-site, offering a unique opportunity to provide exceptional care in a community-focused medical practice within the healthcare industry. As a Locum MD/DO in Hematology Oncology, you will play a vital role in diagnosing and treating patients with blood disorders and cancers. Your expertise will contribute to our mission of delivering high-quality healthcare while working alongside a team of skilled professionals committed to patient-centered care. Responsibilities Conduct comprehensive patient assessments and medical histories Diagnose and treat various hematological and oncological conditions Develop and implement individualized treatment plans Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams to optimize patient care Educate patients and their families on treatment options and procedures Monitor patient progress and adjust treatment as necessary Stay updated on advancements in hematology and oncology Participate in case discussions and contribute to clinical decision-making Requirements MD or DO degree from an accredited medical school Valid medical license to practice in the state of Oregon Experience in hematology oncology is preferred Strong clinical skills and a patient-centered approach Excellent communication and interpersonal skills Ability to work collaboratively in a team-oriented environment Commitment to continuing education and professional development Ability to manage a diverse patient population with compassion
Schedule:
4 clinical days and 1 admin day per week
Call Requirement:
Every 4th week, critical lab calls and occasional symptomatic patient call
Patient Volume:
13-15 per day, including 2 new consults Strong clinical support, including Medical Oncologist, NPs, RNs, and a social worker Must be board-certified Paid travel & expenses
