Job Title:
Logistics Analyst Job Description The Logistics Analyst coordinates and expedites the flow of work and materials within and between departments in alignment with the production schedule. This role reviews and distributes production, work, and shipment schedules, maintains accurate records of inventory levels and costs, and supports efficient order management and supply chain operations. The position is ideal for early-career professionals with experience in supply chain or manufacturing who want to build a strong foundation in logistics planning and production support. Responsibilities Coordinate and expedite the flow of work and materials within and between departments according to the production schedule. Review and distribute production, work, and shipment schedules to ensure timely and accurate execution. Examine documents, materials, and products, and monitor work processes to assess completeness, accuracy, and conformance to standards and specifications. Review production schedules, work orders, and staffing tables to determine personnel and material requirements and establish material priorities. Record and maintain detailed production data, including volume produced, consumption of raw materials, and quality control measures. Requisition and maintain inventories of materials and supplies necessary to meet production demands. Compile and update reports on inventory levels, costs, and related logistics metrics to support decision-making. Accurately document and record customer and client information in relevant systems. Utilize ERP systems and order management tools to support production planning and material flow. Collaborate with cross-functional teams in supply chain and manufacturing to resolve issues and maintain smooth operations. Essential Skills Strong verbal and written communication skills. High attention to detail with the ability to ensure accuracy and completeness in documentation and processes. Effective problem-solving skills and the ability to work through operational issues. Interpersonal skills to collaborate with colleagues across departments. Ability to analyze costs related to manufacturing, labor, and materials. Ability to accurately document and record customer and client information. Knowledge of applicable laws and regulations related to shipping and production. Proficiency with computer applications, including Microsoft Word and Excel. Experience using ERP systems and order management tools. 2+ years of experience in supply chain and/or manufacturing (internship experience accepted). High school diploma or GED. Additional Skills & Qualifications Experience in logistics planning, production support, or inventory management. Familiarity with Microsoft Office, including Excel for data tracking and reporting. Comfort working with ERP systems to manage production and material data. Ability to learn and adapt to new systems and processes in a fast-paced environment. Internship experience in supply chain, logistics, or manufacturing considered as relevant experience. Strong organizational skills and the ability to manage multiple priorities. Work Environment The role operates in a production and supply chain environment where you work closely with manufacturing, operations, and logistics teams. You will regularly use ERP systems, order management tools, and Microsoft Office applications, especially Word and Excel, to manage schedules, inventory, and production data. The position involves working with production schedules, work orders, and inventory records in an office setting within or adjacent to a manufacturing facility. Standard business hours are typical, with the need to align work with production timelines and material availability. The environment emphasizes accuracy, collaboration, and adherence to operational standards and regulations. Job Type & Location This is a Contract position based out of Pontiac, IL. Pay and Benefits The pay range for this position is $20.00 - $23.00/hr. Eligibility requirements apply to some benefits and may depend on your job classification and length of employment.
