Logistics Coordinator

Job Description Sierra Logistics LLC is seeking an experienced and detail-oriented Logistics Coordinator to support and manage daily transportation and supply chain operations for both local and over-the-road (OTR) freight. This role is ideal for someone who thrives in a fast-paced logistics environment, excels at communication, and can proactively coordinate shipments, drivers, and customer expectations to ensure efficient and profitable operations. Key Responsibilities Coordinate daily freight movements for local and OTR operations Schedule pickups and deliveries while optimizing routes and transit times Serve as the primary point of contact for drivers, customers, brokers, and vendors Communicate shipment details, updates, delays, and special requirements clearly and professionally Monitor shipments from dispatch to delivery, ensuring on-time performance Adjust logistics plans in real time based on traffic, weather, and operational challenges Source and secure freight using load boards when needed Analyze rates, miles, fuel costs, and other factors to ensure load profitability Maintain accurate records of shipments, rates, and operational data Resolve service issues, delays, or disruptions quickly and effectively Support coordination between transportation and warehouse operations when needed Requirements Minimum of 2 years of experience in logistics coordination, dispatch, or transportation operations Strong understanding of freight movement (FTL/LTL, local & OTR) Experience with load boards and freight sourcing Ability to analyze rate per mile, fuel costs, and profit margins Excellent communication and relationship management skills Strong organizational skills with high attention to detail Ability to multitask and perform under pressure in a fast-paced environment Problem-solving mindset with the ability to handle unexpected issues Preferred Qualifications Warehouse or cross-dock experience Existing relationships with brokers, carriers, or shippers Ability to contribute or bring in new freight opportunities (bonus potential) Job Type Full-time Benefits Health insurance Dental insurance Vision insurance Paid time off Flexible schedule
