Now hiring! Logistics Manager McIntosh, AL (On-site) We are looking for a Logistics Manager to join our Performance Chemicals team in McIntosh, AL. Come create chemistry with us! Our highly qualified and experienced team with outstanding market knowledge as well as our innovation platform and application know-how ensure our technological competence to provide excellent solutions to our customers. As a Logistics Team Leader at our McIntosh site, you will play a key role in leading daily logistics operations, ensuring safe, efficient, and cost-effective material handling and distribution processes.
You will work closely with site leadership, supply chain, and operations teams to optimize material flow, improve service levels, and support overall site performance. As a Logistics Manager, you create chemistry by… Leading and coordinating daily logistics activities, including inbound, outbound, and internal material movements Supervising and developing a team responsible for the safe handling of raw materials and finished goods across site operations Ensuring compliance with all BASF safety, environmental, and regulatory requirements Planning and prioritizing work schedules to meet customer demand and operational targets Driving continuous improvement initiatives to enhance efficiency, reduce costs, and improve service levels Collaborating cross-functionally with Operations, Quality, and Supply Chain to ensure seamless execution Managing logistics KPIs (e.g., service level, inventory accuracy, cost per activity) and implementing corrective actions when needed Supporting NCM management, revising and approving investigation and Action Plans for NCM's related to the site logistics operations Coordinating with third-party logistics providers, carriers, and external partners to ensure operational excellence Supporting implementation of systems and tools (e.g., yard management, scheduling, inventory control) to improve site performance Promoting a culture of engagement, accountability, and continuous learning within the team If you… Hold a bachelor's degree in Supply Chain, Logistics, Engineering, or related field (or equivalent experience) Have proven experience in logistics, warehouse operations, or material handling in an industrial or manufacturing environment Bring previous leadership or supervisory experience preferred Possess strong knowledge of logistics processes, safety standards, and operational excellence principles Have experience working with ERP systems (SAP preferred) and Microsoft Office tools Are able to analyze data and drive decisions based on KPIs and performance metrics Hold strong communication and stakeholder management skills Possess demonstrated ability to lead teams in a fast-paced, dynamic environment Bring a continuous improvement mindset (Lean, Six Sigma experience is a plus) Create your own chemistry with you@BASF At BASF, you will have the chance to do meaningful work towards building a more sustainable future.
